APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH.
To raise awareness of child abuse prevention, the Allegany County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, Inc. invites you to join their blue ribbon camapign. The blue ribbon symbolizes your commitment to protecting and nuturing the children of our community. Tie a yellow ribbon around a tree or wear one throughout the month of April to show that you support efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Be a good role model. Children imitate adult behavior. Break the cycle of abuse.

Ray Welsh's Cumberland Car Show
featuring race cars from the Cumberland and Bedford Raceways, street rods, custon rods, motorcycles and go-karts.


 



 

Million Dollar winner Rick Sturtz from Barrelville will be displaying the Earnhardt Signature Truck at C.A.R.e 2001! This is one of only two of these models, the other belongs to the Earnhardt family.

SPECIAL APPEARANCES
by local celebrities such as McDonald's Grimace with coupson giveaways and special discounts.

RAFFLE TICKETS
Every half hour, a drawing will be held for door prizes and discount coupons from area merchants (Dinners, hair products, oil changes, sodas, arcade tickets, theatre passes, etc.). Chances are 4/$1.00.

DUCK POND
for the little ones (8 and under). Every little one recieves a prize.

DIME TOSS
See just how good you are in this time-honored and fun carnival game.

HOT DOG STAND
Grilled hot dogs, chips and sodas are available at our C.A.R.e stand. Items are donated by area merchants.

FACE PAINTING STAND
Bring your little ones to get all spruced up by our teen makeup artists.

SLOT CAR TRACK
Enjoy this unique form of racing.

11:00am & 1:00pm:
Drivers will bowl with fans. Look for your favorite driver and sign up with their team. $10.00 entry includes two games of bowling and C.A.R.e donation.

11:00am:
C.A.R.e AUCTION
Some donated items include Western Md. Distributing racing memoriabilia, collector's cards, autographed photos, Beiderlack racing blankets, motel packages, tools, dinners from are aresaurants and much, much more!
(Auction to be held outside, weather permitting. Will be held inside White Oaks Lanes in case of rain.)

4:00pm:
Model Car Contest judging and 'Paper' Car judging.

5:00pm:
Ray Welsh's Award Presentation, followed by Early Editions' Award Presentation.

All proceeds fund Child Abuse prevention education in Allegany, Mineral and Hampshire Counties.
